The exhibition is grounded in an interdisciplinary framework that integrates neuroaesthetics, cognitive science, media theory, and contemplative studies—while remaining closely connected to CAMLab’s broader research agenda in cognitive aesthetics and experiential heritage.

Neuroaesthetics brings together immersive and interactive installations that directly engage neural activity, physiological signals, and embodied perception—such as brain-wave sensing, biofeedback systems, real-time data visualization, and responsive environments—to explore how aesthetic experience unfolds at the boundary between conscious awareness and pre-reflective mental states.

Works in the exhibition operate as experimental aesthetic systems. They allow visitors to experience:

• how attention fluctuates,
• how affect and perception co-evolve,
• how sensory integration shapes meaning and emotional response.

Here, art becomes a method for probing aesthetic cognition—not through laboratory reduction, but through situated, embodied, and culturally framed encounters.

The exhibition foregrounds works that:

• capture neural and physiological signals (such as EEG, heart rate, or breath),
• translate cognitive states into visual, sonic, or spatial environments,
• explore meditation, attention, and altered or transitional states of consciousness,
• investigate how digital media reshape perception, embodiment, and awareness,
• challenge conventional distinctions between viewer, performer, and instrument.

By staging these works in an immersive and responsive exhibition environment, CAMLab positions media art as a critical platform for understanding how cognition is shaped by technology, culture, and aesthetic form.
