Abstract
Lin Liang and Lü Ji were not only the most influential court painters of their time but also central figures in the study of early Ming court painting history today. Their art transcended borders, traveling east to Japan during the Ming era and eventually reaching the Western world via Japan in the 19th century. Prof. Yin will delve deep into the fascinating world of Lin Liang and Lü Ji, exploring the social context, support systems, and intellectual influences behind their rising prestige.
Speaker Bio
Prof. Yin Jinan is a renowned art historian, expert in ancient Chinese painting authentication, and contemporary art critic. He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts and serves as the director of the Institute of Image and History at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts.
